About Us

Sweeny United is mission work in our very own community.  It is the uniting of churches of all denominations within the Sweeny Independent School District.  Our utmost goal is to bring glory to God and to demonstrate His love as students complete exterior home improvement projects for elderly, disabled, and disadvantaged residents of the school district.

Sweeny United believes in building young volunteers.  Students are eligible to participate upon completion of sixth grade.  Junior high and high school students are placed in teams led by adult volunteers.  They work together to complete exterior painting and construction projects and to do yard work for residents who need assistance.

Students have the opportunity to earn service credits for various school and organizational requirements.  In addition to building servants' hearts, experiences in Sweeny United are valuable for scholarship and college applications.  Sweeny United alumni make their neighborhoods better places to live because they carry on in the spirit of the group throughout the year.

Sweeny United fervently prays that all who are touched by the mission week feel God's love.
